The AGM has traditionally been held in July, and the report is published in the Bulletin. Since 1993, before the formal meeting, there has been, as a rule, a programme of talks by members of the Society or invited speakers. Over the years, the usual location has been London, but occasionally the Society went elsewhere, for example in 1992 to Rochester, with a visit to the Elliott Brothers archives. Recently, the Society has chosen locations outside London and combined this with a visits programme.
