Twentieth Week of Scientific & Technological Culture

The Italian government has announced the XX Week of Scientific and Technological Culture and our member in Legnano Italy, Oronzo Mauro, has organised a programme of events to mark the occasion running from 12-18 April 2010. Highlights include an exhibition comprising historic scientific instruments, original Physics books (from Nollet, Boyle… XVIII to XIX century), visits to the School Physics Laboratories visit and Industrial Archaeology on F. Tosi.


During the week there will be seminars on the Italian Physician Ettore Majorana and E. Fermi’s team in via Panisperma (by Prof. Erasmo Recami, University of Bergamo), Measurement in Scientific Research (by Prof. Umberto Pisani, Politecnico of Turin), Measure the Light with the Light (by Eng. Oronzo Mauro), How to restore scientific instruments and the 10 principles of a good restoration (by Mr. Nello Paolucci, founder and president of the Association for Old Scientific Instruments Restoration [ARASS] of Brera, Milan).
